kennels.
Two ) Buyer keeps the
Male dog with undescended testicle(s) and the
breeding agreement for the male dog in question
is revoked . Purchase a replacement male
pup 30% off the orginal purchase price and will
be sent to you with no shipping cost .
Our hip guarantee is for
a pup replacement guarantee.
The pups hips are
warranteed to OVC/OFA/sv at 14 months of
age. This warranty expires when the pup is 14
months old.
We recommend preliminary
x-rays at 12 months. If the owners vet suspects
a problem with the hips, the owner or his vet
should send the x-rays to the OVC/OFA /sv and ask
for a preliminary opinion. A copy of the x-ray
must be sent to Kennels before the dog is
replaced. If my vet(s)determine that the
positioning is bad on the x-ray I will not
accept that x-ray as grounds for a replacement
dog. and read the article wrote at http://www.leerburg.com/hipart.htm correct positioning of hips for x-rays.
It seems a great many Vets do not know how to
properly position a dog for an x-ray and being
out of position even a little can cause a false
negative reading.
The hip warranty is non
transferable.
Hip dysplasia has four
major causes:
- genetics
- diet
- over feeding
- too much
exercise at a young age
It is felt by some that
genetics play between a 25% and 30% role in a
dog having hip dysplasia. This means that new
owners can assume a great deal of responsibility
(70% to 75%) in their dog developing good hips.
This means a good diet , here at Yukon Hausberg
kennels we feed an all natural raw diet. http://www.leerburg.com/diet.htm Heatlh warranty
is void if a poor quality kibble is being feed
to the pup . Buyer will have to provide receipts
for raw diet ( including supplements) and or for
a high quality kibble ( any kibble that contains
meat by products is not acceptable )
Ask for
Details . Raw may cost more but it will mean
less trips to the vet and a healther dog
.
Dogs should be kept
lean. Carrying too much weight at a young age is
going to add stress on soft puppy bones
.
New owners need to be
very careful of over exercising a pup. This
means no jogging until after the dog is 12
months old. This mean not exercising to the
point of exhaustion, or taking the pup for long
long walks. Around the block is fine, a 2 mile
walk is not fine. No jumping In and out of the
back of trucks.
In addition I will only
replace a pup once. If someone gets two pups
from my kennel and both have bad hips, then that
person is doing something wrong in the way they
raise their dogs and I will not cover any
additional replacements.
Temperament is
determined by genetics and environment. Too
often, nice puppies develop temperament problems
as a result of the way they were raised. We have
no control over
environment. |
